This build is made for World versus World, more specifically to be up in the frontline absorbing as much incoming damage and walking away still standing strong. This build is not recommended for PvE and Dungeon content because you won't be doing much damage. Quick Overview This Build will provide over 35,000 Health, 3K Armor, and 1K Healing Power. You will mainly be using 3 Shouts to heal nearby allies and to remove conditions off of them. The Shouts will heal for 2.1K each. This Guide will contain Tips, Tricks, and in-depth information. I will also be putting information on "How to get the Armor" which is quick and easy to obtain, personally it took me less than two days. |
This Build uses a Shield. For your Main-hand and second Weapon Set, you can decided on what you feel more comfortable with. Personally, I use all weapons depending on my situation. Primary Weapon Set Main-Hand: Mace Stat: Vitality (Primary) / Healing Power / Condition Damage (Condition damage is useless but the reason behind using this is to increase your Health Pool as well as giving you Healing Power. 3K armor is good enough, personally rather keep it at that and invest stat points into other areas such as Vit and Healing). Sigil:Superior Sigil of Leeching - This will make your next attack after swapping to this weapon while in combat steals some health. You heal for 975
Off-Hand: Shield Stat: Healing Power (Primary) / Toughness / Power Sigil:Superior Sigil of Restoration - This gives health on killing a Foe. The Heal amount is 670.
|
Secondary Weapon Set Both Hand: Greatsword Stat: Healing Power (Primary) / Toughness / Power Sigil:Superior Sigil of Life - You gain +10 healing each time you kill a foe. Stacks up to 25 times for a total of +250 Healing Power.
Alternate Weapons When Roaming Sword & Warhorn When traveling in a large group, slow down and use the Warhorn to provide Swiftness Boons to allies that are trying to catch up. When needed back in the front of the group use leap -> Switch to a Greatsword and Rush -> Whirlwind Attack. When Countering Enemy Portal Bomb Hammer As the enemy starts portaling in, use a Hammer to provide the crowd control. AoE knock backs and an AoE 2 Second Stun. I also highly recommend Switching one of your 3 shouts to "Fear Me!" preferably "On My Mark!". What you would want to do is get up close to the enemy portal and use "Fear Me!" when the portal in. This will help separate their stacked numbers as well as render enemies useless for 3 second. Fear is a condition that stacks in duration so multiple "Fear Me!" shouts will separate an enemy stack even more or increase a single target's Fear duration. When range is absolutely needed Rifle or Longbow When the group is lacking DPS to take down cannons for example and theres nothing to do on ground. Switch to Rifle or a Longbow to help out the DPS. The Rifle is a better choice if needing to take out single targets, if you are lacking the range or cannot target enemies siege above the walls, use a Longbow for the AoE. |
Use Armor with the stat combination of Power as Primary and Vitality and Toughness as secondary stats. You can easily get this by doing Ascalonian Catacombs for Ascalonian Tears. You can use the Tears to buy the Power/Vit/Toughness gear. Easy way in getting this is by doing the 3 Paths 3 times each a day, this will get you your set. First Path: 1st Completion Earns 60 Tears, 2nd Time 40 Tears, 3rd Time 20 Tears = 120 Tears
Second Path: 1st Completion Earns 60 Tears, 2nd Time 40 Tears, 3rd Time 20 Tears = 120 Tears Third Path: 1st Completion Earns 60 Tears, 2nd Time 40 Tears, 3rd Time 20 Tears = 120 Tears First Day: Total Tears Earned = 360
Champions and Legendary Creatures can drop a "Bag of Wondrous Goods". This bag will contain 3 Tears, Drop of Karma (400 Karma when used), and Coins (about 4 silver). I recommend getting Karma % buffs before using the Drops such as Karma Booster +50% Karma, Guild Banner Karma Buff +15%, and Karma Food Buff +5% Karma. If the Servers WvW has a low population, you will get an "Outmanned" buff giving you +33% karma. |
I recommend getting the Helm, Shoulders, Gloves, and Boots from Ascalonian Catacombs. Cost 42,000 Karma This will increase your Armor and Health even further as well making your shouts remove conditions when used. +20 Vitality |
For this build, the standard utilities will be "Shake it Off!", "For Great Justice!", and "On My Mark!". Chosen because of them having a short cool down, both Shake it Off and For Great Justice will have it's cool down reduce to 20 seconds and On My Mark to 24 seconds because of the Trait Lung Capacity (Reduce Shout CD by 20%). This makes it easier to spam the shouts in order to heal or cleanse your allies. (Shouts will remove a condition and heal nearby allies for 2.1K) "Shake it Off!" - Cure a condition on yourself and nearby allies. Also breaks stuns. "For Great Justice!" - Grant fury and might to yourself and allies. Fury: 8 s
3 Might: 25 s "On My Mark!" - Call out target foe to make them vulnerable. 10 Vulnerability: 10 s
Battle Standard - Place a battle standard that revives fallen allies and grants fury, might, swiftness and stability to allies. Stability: 3 s
Fury: 3 s Might: 10 s Swiftness: 4 s *Use this to revive fallen allies. If your in a large scale battle, it's better to just place it instead of saving it. Usually in large scale fights it gets pretty hectic and messy that its hard to tell what is going on. *This Banner will actually stack with other Battle Standard. 1 Banner will give you 4 stacks of might, starting with 1 Boon of Might and gives you another every 3 seconds capping at 4 stacks. With another Battle Standard, you will get 8 Might Boons and so on. Each Battle Standard gives an additional 4 Might Boon. |
Alternate Utilities When Roaming When roaming around the map or trying to get from one point to another as soon as possible, I recommend swapping out "On My Mark!" for Bull's Charge. You can cover alot of ground using Bull's Rush (Utility), Leap (Sword MH), Rush (GS), and Whirlwind Attack (GS). When Countering Enemy Portal Bomb To counter an enemy Portal Bomb, I recommend swapping out "On My Mark!" for "Fear Me!". This will help separate their stacked numbers as well as making enemy players unable to preform actions for 3 seconds as they run away. *Once you see an enemy portal, have all warriors drop Battle Standards. This will give you Stability and each stability boon will increase its duration, stability is granted as soon as its places so all warriors should place in down at the same time. If you have a party of 5 Warriors dropping the Banners, it will give you nearby allies 15 seconds of Stability and 20 stacks of Might easily. |

[10 Strength]: +100 Power / +10% Condition Duration For your chosen Adept trait. There are two choices of Traits depending on the situation. Death from Above - Damage and launch foes when you take falling damage. Take 50% less damage from falling. If you are protecting your base, protecting your gate you would want to use Death from Above. The way you would want to use this is by jumping off of the wall and landing infront of your gate. This will knock invaders attacking your door or stop and delay enemies that are using their Flame Rams. or Great Fortitude - 5% of power is given as a bonus to vitality. If your assaulting the enemies base or doing anything other then defending your base. Then you would want to use Great Fortitude which will help keep you alive in the fight, maximizing your health to take in even the heaviest hitting attacks and survive without a problem. [30 Defense]: +300 Toughness / +300 Healing Power Turtle's Defense - Gain +200 toughness when crippled, chilled, stunned, or immobilized. Turtle's Defense is also one of those "Must Have" traits, with +200 toughness and already having so much Armor. This will make Arrow Carts become nearly ineffective towards you. Defy Pain - Activates Endure Pain at 25% health. Defy Pain is great, even though your health rarely drops down at 25%. It's to ensure that you will survive the unexpected. You might get hit by multiple trebs and focused hard by an enemy zerg and thats where Defy Pain will become a life saver. You can swap between two Traits depending on the situations. Use either "Shield Mastery" or "Missile Deflection" (You can possibly even use "Last Stand" if stuns become a problem). Shield Mastery - Gain +90 toughness while using a shield. Shield skills recharge 20% faster. As default, you would want to use Shield Mastery, reducing the cool down of shield skills allowing you to use the shield skills more frequently as well as increases your toughness. Missile Deflection - Reflect missiles whenever you are blocking. If you are fighting against a lot of ranged enemies, I recommend swapping Shield Mastery for Missile Deflection to reflect attacks back at them. [30 Tactics]: +300 Vitality / +30% Boon Duration Empower Allies - Increases power of nearby allies by 70 points. This will help out nearby allies DPS. Only one warrior should have this because it does not stack. or Leg Specialist - Apply a 1-second immobilize whenever you cripple a target with a skill. If another warrior is using Empower Allies, I recommend using Leg Specialist instead (Only if your using weapons that cause cripple) Lung Capacity - Shouts recharge 20% faster. Because you have 3 shouts, its best to reduce their cool downs which will allow you to use it more frequently. Vigorous Shouts - Shouts heal. This trait is a must have to keep yourself and allies alive, allowing your shouts to AoE Heal. |
